15 cheap and chic things to do when you are bored

1. RE-EVALUATE YOUR LIFE.  Make a plan just for fun! It might seem weird but if you know what you would like to do with your life you will have a much better idea of what to focus on in general e.g. if you want to have a big, happy family then spend lots of time with them and focus on that but if your main goal is to become a business woman (or man) then it is probably best to make work your main focus. Look critically at your life right now and make a list of things that you need to do to improve it. Unravel your deepest desires and see how much you really want them. Look deeply into who you really are, who knows, you might even discover something that you never knew about yourself!

2. SORT OUT YOUR WARDROBE. It is always a good idea to have a wardrobe sort out. However, this does not always mean chucking away every item that is not on trend at the time because fashion comes and goes and who knows, you could be throwing away next season's hottest item. Always throw away clothes that are too small for you. Don't feel guilty that they are too small for you; if you feel bad about your weight either go on a diet or talk to someone about it. Don't be that girl that thinks short, tight clothes look good because most of the time they look silly and even if you are skinny they can make you look fat. Remember that your style should define you as a person and the show the world the image that you want it to see. Just don't keep items that you never wear anymore when they could benefit someone else. Charity shops are often treasure troves for one of a kind stylish or vintage items. Put some of your treasure into them!

3. INVITE A FRIEND OVER. Make sure it's a friend that you like though because you won't exactly have fun if you're with someone you can't relax around. Fake friends can sometimes be beneficial but if you think that you should put too much time and effort into these relationships then you are using the other person and leading them onto only hurt them more when the discover how false the friendship really is and that is a bitchy thing to do. You don't necessarily need to have anything planned. If you have invited round a close friend she will understand that you haven't planned anything. Just sit, chat, eat and soon you'll be well away.

4. HAVE A MOVIE NIGHT IN. This is cheap and chic. You can either rent a movie or just watch one that you already own. Movie+Popcorn+Friend=Fun! Sounds cheesy but it is so true.

5. GO ON A WALK. Something as simple as a walk is often over looked nowadays however, it shouldn't be. It's good exercise. You get lots of fresh air. It's sociable if you go with a friend and great for catching up on all the latest gossip. It can be fun. You can show off your new outfit by going on a long walk in a public place too.

6. GIVE SOMEONE A CALL. OK, so this can be pricey if you are on an expensive phone contract but talking to someone over the phone is much more natural than talking to someone over the Internet. It takes more thought and people rarely say things on a phone conversation that they wouldn't say to your face (unless they have hidden their number and it's a prank call!)

7. SET YOURSELF A CHALLENGE. Whether it's a mental challenge (to get over 80% in your next maths test) or a social challenge (to invite over someone that you would like to become closer with you) challenging yourself is healthy. Aim high, but not too high or you may be disappointed.

8. PLAN A TRIP OUT. Even planning something simple like a shopping trip can take up time. My motto is Planning makes perfect. Although I am often proven wrong I still love planning. Big plans like day trips to the seaside or parties are most fun, especially if you're planning a dress code too.

9. DO WORK.  Surely getting on with some work is better than sitting around with nothing to do?

10. EXERCISE.  As I said in the Health in Fashion post, exercise is vital in maintaining a happy, healthy you.

11. PRACTICE. Practice makes perfect. If you are musical, practice your instrument. If you are practicing for a speech or a play then practice what you have to say. If people are around that are also bored then practice to an audience.

12. WRITE A WISH LIST. Make a wish list, or shopping list. You might not be able to get everything on the list but it's just fun to think what you would have and do if you could have and do anything you wanted.

13. READ. Like I said in the post A Few Chic Words reading is great way to relax and the fact that it potentially increases your intelligence and knowledge of the world is a bonus.

14. GIVE YOURSELF A MAKEOVER. Now, you have given your life an over view it's time to change the way you look. Whether you just put on some makeup and do your hair for fun then take a few pictures or make a detailed plan of all the treatments you will get when you next visit your local hairdresser's, spa or beautician's you will be guaranteed a fun, yet time consuming task. But, then again, if you are bored you will more than likely want a task that will be tie consuming.

15.COOK SOMETHING HEALTHY. The classic thing to make is a cake but have you seen how much sugar you have to put in those things? That must lead to a lot of calories. Try fruity cerial bars, exotic salads, soups, fish, meat or vegetables.
